Subject: lost world
The bleak morning mist shifts aside
slowly for the vague grey shape of a messenger

Past - or future - runs up to hit and stab the
defenseless figure

Shivers
unheard weeping
while the past transforms into present
and time takes its dreadful patient vengeance

The broken traveller turns his back on this foe
assimilates into oblivion leaving
fleeting scent
behind

Words, deeds, joy, thoughts
should have might have been
and despair
the last emotion

The picture I had in mind was someone who was sent on a faraway mission, gets lost in time. After a long long time, he finds his way home, only to discover that it no longer exists.
The feelings of the traveller would be somewhat like the melancholy taken to the extreme. smiling face

The main emotion impressed upon me was regret. I was inspired to write this:

Reminiscent of bliss and pain
The past
Would I like to go back and relive it?
But in my mind
I already entered the world that was lost
Backwards I walk
Nostalgic

It was so sweet
Perhaps bittersweet

And it is kind of sad
These moments were gone
All gone

All that remains are memories
Vivid and yet
Somehow fleeting

Then I strain to see what the future beholds
Would it be sweet?
Would it be great?
Would it be how I want it?

But time
It rolls
On and on and on

Oblivious

I never noticed how the present
Turns quickly into the past
Unlived

Soon, I would look back on it
Like how I looked back on all things gone by

Fleeting.
