i'm able to post using the wysiwyg in both opera and firefox, although it doesn't show a blinking cursor. it didn't keep any of the color formatting on either of them, though. i used italics on my firefox post which it didn't keep either. what happens when you use the wysiwyg in firefox or opera, galphanore?

i will look into it.

Ok. Oh, and when I was trying to reply to a PM it only showed the original message when I tried in Opera. It refused to acknowledge my changes, when I was using the WYSIWYG editor.

after you edit a post, try going out of the thread and back into it to see if there was maybe a delay in accepting the changes.

i found that the forum software has some known wysiwyg compatibility issues with some versions of opera. probably the same story with firefox, although you should still be able to post using the wysiwyg for either of them, even though the formatting may not render properly.

not much that can be done there except experiment with different browsers to find which one works best for you. browser compatibility is a real monster for webdevelopers - even different versions of the same browser will render pages differently.

sorry about that,

lib

zen It's all good. I just turned off the WYSIWYG editor, rarely actually use it anyway. Quicker to just type it out.

I use Opera too. WYSIWYG works in Opera 9, but has issues where suddenly you'll get a horizontal scroll or the like, and you can't drag smilies. These seem to happen on every site I try, unfortunately Opera 9 lacks good QA on a number of fronts (there's a caching bug too after you edit posts).

Yeah, that caching bug irritates the crap outta me. Another thing that happens from time to time is I'll be typing and suddenly it will jump out of the editor box hmm
