We all know what a cliché is, the question is how much truth due they have relative to everyday life? Much so. They came from somewhere, were created. What are some of your favorites.

Here are some of mine:

"And this too shall pass"

"If it looks too good to be true, it is"

"When the going gets tough, the tough get going"

"All things come to those who wait"

"What goes around, comes around"

"Consider the source"

These are just a few. I'll add more later.

So what are your favorites"

"You know a person by the friends they keep"

"Don't judge a book by its cover"

"Walk a mile in another man's shoes"

"A word to the wise should be sufficient"

"Silence is golden"

"A woman stands by her man"

"If you play with fire, you might get burnt"

"Don't follow the crowd, you may get lost in it"

"What you see is what you get"

"If you don't succeed, try, try again"

"If it isn't worth keeping, it isn't worth having"

"Life waits for no man"

"Life is what you make it"

out of the frying pan .into the fire

he who hesitates is lost.

tomorrow is another day..

there is no smoke without fire.

don't put all your eggs in one basket..

don't put the horse before the cart.

don't shut the stable door after the horse has bolted.

don't cross your bridge before you come to them.

don't count your chickens before they are hatched.

you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink

I would assume that the person who hesitates, at least knows where he is to start. It also plays on the multiple meanings of the word 'Lost".
