Subject: Made me a blog
I've resisted this fad for so long, and I'm finally ready to have at it. I made a blog doing media commentary, predominantly positive, and if any of you'd like to check it out, it's at libertygrl

clap

blogs are fun, but beware the perils of blog depression. whee

i don't think it qualifies as a fad though... it's hard to imagine that blogging will go out of fashion.

i am noticing a trend w/ myself here, that is, when it comes to couch stuff. i keep thinking about lots of things i am reading and i don't give that outward response -- i just keep things tinkering around my head. so i am going to try to say what i am thinking.

i absolutely love this blog bc it is interesting & intellegently written w/o being condescending or superior. you are putting into words concepts that i could see but couldn't articulate nearly as well (as in Xmen) and bringing to light concepts that i would have never seen for myself (your analysis of Sunday Bloody Sunday).

since my daughter loved the video, i decided to share your thoughts & read her:

"Here's the thing... it's not a nuanced political statement. It doesn't really have anything to do with Bush's policies or priorities, and it doesn't say much about the Democratic or liberal agenda, either. It's just about jarring images, a memorable melody, and words that are just meaningful enough for us to recognize them.

But that's what politics is about these days, too."

and, her eyes lit up so wide. so i went on w/ the whole review. and i could see her relishing your points and her amazement that you could see that. (in fact, she said "wow, he's smarter than me.") (meaning herself.) zen

anyway, thanks again for sharing.

Symbot - I like your blog style; makes me wish I was a little more up to date, musically speaking. Maybe it's time for another reinvention; your blog will be a good start!

Lib - 'Blog depression' Oooooo - sound a bit like Phd depression - Ooooooooooooh.

Cheers, e smiling face

Thanks for the feedback, guys... I try not to need validation, but it means a lot when it comes from such highly-intelligent people.
