Subject: ACRIMONY
The long standing Topic "Blast From The Past" which I posted after returning to The Couch is now being replaced with a one word topic, titled "ACRIMONY." Over the last two months I have witnessed a level of acrimony between "posters" that I never witnessed in 2007. The Couch Forum is still my favorite website, but with all the insults that fly, including a judgmental spirit, and sarcasm that takes place between "posters," some almost bordering on a vendetta, I find very offensive and repugnant. Shouldn't "posters" have more respect for one another, even a modicum of respect? Yes, The Couch Forum provides a venue for thoughts, ideas, philosophy, and art; and yes, a place for healthy disagreements. But, come on people, let's rise to a higher level! Enough said. Sincerely Wentworth

You're right. Post something else to talk about. What's your pleasure?

FYI, My exchanges with sunlight is the result of a long standing disagreement on how a Christian should respond to others. Sunlight seems to believe that condemnation is the only way to reply, and I do not believe that is Christ's teaching. When I log on to the site and his are the only fresh posts, and they are attacking me, I tend to "reply in kind". I apologize if these have offended you, perhaps I should try to find an 'ignore' function on this site. Then I wouldn't be tempted to reply to sunlight's posts.

There simply isn't enough activity here to make the forum very fun.

Then post something that happened today. Even if it was so mind-numbingly boring that you aren't sure how you survived, it would be better than nothing at all, or a Sunlight post.

On Sunday I sold 12 items on EBay and today I packed 11 of them into 10 packages. I still need to get them addressed and take them to the post office on Thu. FYI, I take larger boxes apart and make small boxes out of the corrugated cardboard, usually I turn them inside out so the printing doesn't show.

People are complaining for the lack of activity. People are complaining about the hostility between posters when there is nothing else happening. Who's fault is that, EVERYONE'S. If you want more activity, post something, anything. If you don't like the animosity, post something so that those are not the only posts to read. Every post doesn't need to be Earth shaking and wonderful, I much prefer the everyday and mundane, I'm more likely to have something to add.

Well, well I still remember a thinkers wise words before he left here, he said there are the odd people in various groups, just posting thinks to annoy others, because they found it funny to upset others.

A thinker seemed to be a very experienced person, because I never thought that some people have a rather strange motive when posting things over here.

Thank you Nihil Loc, and the Doc for responding to my topic "ACRIMONY." Although my post didn't refer to specific individuals, it was simply a call for all of us to rise to a higher level. The Couch Forum to me is unique in the sense that it truly fosters free expression, and is not burdened by the heavy hand of moderators. Moderators serve a purpose so that things don't get too far out of hand, but here on The Couch we are given more "free" expression. Because of this a big hand of appreciation goes to Libertygirl, and those who may have worked with her to create this Forum. Everyone brings something new to this experience. Before I close, permit me to say hello to Morgena in the U.K. Reading her posts in 2007 was very ennobling and inspiring. Thank you Morgena, and do hope to see you more often. Sincerely, Wentworth (Sorry for bumping your post Morgena, but I didn't know it was there)
