Subject: What the F
Today a friend gave me a cold shoulder
And I was left baffled and in wonder
What the hell is the matter?
Which made things rather bitter?
I asked you what's wrong?
You say none but kept silent all day long
I mean what the fuck?
As good friends, shouldn't we be talking this out?
Ah hell, should I put away my pride?
Or should I let you see things from my side?

Shit.

hey lady, good to see you round!

a friend of mine broke off ties with a friend of hers sometime ago. they used to be thick as thieves. then, as my friend was going through a divorce, her other friend made a comment defending the soon-to-be ex-husband that really rubbed her the wrong way. she wouldn't have anything to do with her again after that. she said her friend kept asking her what she did wrong. she said she felt like if it she had to explain it, it wasn't worth saving the friendship. to be honest, i think the reasons went a lot deeper than that. the friend had an obvious long-time crush on her ex and one could imagine why that would have been awkward to confront.

anyway, i have no idea what's up with your friend, but all i know is if it's gonna go down like that, maybe you're the one better off without. maybe she feels threatened by you (not by you really, but rather by her own insecurity) and it's not something she can readily admit to.

anyway, sorry to analyze. i sympathize with the situation, it's happened to me more than once as well.

If you loan someone $20.00 and you never see them again,
Perhaps it was a good investment?

hey lib! it's okay, no need to apologize. I did not give the situation much context anyway. smiling face
We're okay now, thank God. I kept deliberating whether I should be the first to break the "silence". Basically, I weighed whether my pride is more important than friendship. It's fucked up because I felt I was not given the "benefit of the doubt" which I deserved, but I just thought, I can't really expect everyone to live up to my expectations of them. Ultimately, I didn't want to have hatred in my heart as I vowed never to keep such poisonous feelings.
At the end of the day, we live with the choices we make, the people we choose to keep by our side, minus the people we choose to let go.

thedoc - let's hope we do not have to get broke if we are to invest in that manner.
