Would you care to elaborate on the context of your question for us non-New Yorkers, Henry? For those of us born and raised on the Left Coast of the USA or elsewhere, this thread is a bit too opaque for us to comment on without more background. smiling face

He obviously doesn't see reality from the same angle as everyone else.

Well I should think not - nobody sees reality from the same angle as anybody else! grin

From my angle, Bloomberg does seem like a pompous, authoritarian jerk with too much money and power, but this could be said of most politicians.

His description of the NYPD as his "private army", and his deployment of them against the Occupy movement are especially troubling. But again, the same could be said of many other mayors across the US and the world. The one thing that seems to make him stand out is his vast personal fortune (11th richest man in the US), and the influence he wields through the media.

Again demonstrating the difficulty of Humor on a forum, I was refering to his stature.

thanks, but the unmoderated environment is not for me. smiling face it's too jarring and i'm far too sensitive to try to digest a conversation while people are flinging insults around me. i'm registered at other forums but rarely post anywhere but here.

Then that is great I get to read most of your creative ideas. In that sense I am really 'following' you. laughing

Thanks, 13. smiling face

Bloomberg I think is a prime example of the direction we're going in here in the US in the way of nanny-statism. It might actually be a good thing tho that he's as outlandish and blatant about it as he is. It draws attention to it, thus shining light on it, rather than letting it fester like the slow-developing disease that gradualism (slow boiling frog syndrome) is.

Maybe he actually will start taxing folks for not eating broccoli at some point, lol.
