And I must admit that all these days I never noticed this. Good observation. clap

The 6th forum is obviously one for the elite, the intelligentsia, and as hidden from us common folk as the covert couch is hidden from the general public.

I guess they send an e-mail to those invited?

" One day God was looking down at Earth and saw all of the evil that was going on. He decided to send an angel down to Earth to check it out.

So he called on a female angel and sent her to Earth for a time.

When she returned she told God, "Yes it is bad on Earth, 95% is bad and 5% is good."

Well, he thought for a moment and said "Maybe I had better send down a male angel; to get both points of view."

So God called a male angel and sent him to Earth for a time.

When the male angel returned he went to God and told him "Yes, the Earth was in decline, 95% was bad and 5% was good."

God said this was not good. He decided to E-mail the 5% that were good and encourage them a little, something to help them keep going. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Do you know what that E-mail said? * * * * * * * * * * * * Oh! You didn't get one either huh? "

why post here if you think the forum is moderated by a bunch of elitist assholes (ie. placeholder for suppositories)? just wondering.

I've always said humor is difficult on an internet forum, Thankyou for proving it.

If you are really offended I can leave.

i've always said that myself, that's why i discourage name-calling around here. definitely didn't sound like you were joking, especially not after throwing the word "maybe" there on the end. anyway, it's no secret that i'm sensitive to insults being thrown around in jest. if you were joking, i'll take your word for it.

for the record, i don't feel i, as admin, owe anyone total transparency here, any more than i expect any of you to post your private messages out in the open. if i consider something private, it's private - including any discussion i may have with the moderators. i find it weird that anyone should have an issue with that, half joking or otherwise.

It's about 3 years since I started writing on this forum. These days I rarely find anything moderated and I am very fine even if anything I write gets moderated. All which has happened in the name of moderation, in last years, at most, is that my posts are shifted to the forums where administrator thinks they belong. That is nothing to get offended by, as far as I am concerned.

I don't think that much moderation is going on at any level on this forum and if administrator is sensitive about insults being thrown around, it's not that it's exclusively for certain types of insults. She has never insulted anyone as far as my reading goes and asking your friends to play music at a slightly light volume in a party which you're hosting is not an insult in my opinion.

This thread started with an observation by a member but took-off in another direction which was not very pleasant for any of us, but it happens with online forums. And observations by fellow members that to give or take humor online is not easy, is also appropriate. Actually, it has to be sensible even offline. I would prefer rather to be remembered as a serious guy who had no sense of humor, than the guy who had excellent sense of humor but used to insult many at times.

*peace*

thank you for the kind words thinker hug

i honestly don't want to be remembered as someone who can never take a joke.

at the same time, i think someone who says "you're an idiot! haha, just kidding", is not really kidding. maybe some, but not entirely. i don't know, i just find it hurtful. i don't think it's beneficial, for me at least, to allow myself to become desensitized to it. it's my sensitivity that helps my creativity as an artist, it helps my critical thinking become more fine-tuned, and those are things i value.

anyway, no one is asking anyone to leave. and as i said, the mods forum is rarely used.

Welcome lib. hug

It's true that desensitizing yourself in certain areas affects you in so many other areas. This I have found to be true as an original experience.

Another related experience: I have this habit of taking threads of casual conversation and then digging a lot and even when other team members have long left the thread I would keep on ruminating and then I let them know what I found after pondering, which surprises them. I just don't let go the threads and it seems absurd at times and no matter how many diversions are there in our conversations ( I am talking about offline conversations.) if it is with persons who I interact with on a day to day basis, I seldom forget the original preposition, which makes it difficult for most of my interlocutors.

The latest post in there is a year old or so. wink If it's the forum of the hidden elite, the power-hub has gone awfully dusty. sisyphus whee
