Subject: Any sports fans?
What do you guys think of the idea of referee-ing a game using the video footage & instant replay? Apparently the idea is a source of controversy among some (especially regarding association football, or soccer as it's called in the US), as some people feel that the capacity for human error should be left in the game.

Any thoughts?

Well, if video replay is in fact instant and used during the game to be more precise and to element erroneous calls then I see not problem with it.

me neither. it's weird that FIFA remains so adamantly opposed to it. they talk about how they want the game to keep its "human face", well a human face is on each of the soccer players, isn't it? and it seems sad to me to see players unfairly robbed of goals scored and so on, not when we have the tools to make the game more fair.

here's an article about the controversy:

The same thing happened to cricket as well. I also, like everyone else, fail to understand the problem.
