Subject: (suggest a title?)
Pondering about on a crisp winter night
A young girl sings softly under the moon
She grasps her jacket round her tight
And continues the near forgotten tune

Her song is lengthy and empty of sorrow
Remembering a time of love and peace
For a hateful war comes on the morrow
And she wishes is for it to cease

So on she sings 'bout times long gone
'Bout times she wants to see again
Times when the light guiding her was strong
And times when the sun was also her friend

Now those times are past and spite rules the day
The sun is considered a joy no more
The few lives left are beginning to fray
And the earth at day is taken by war

But still the girl sings, though now it is forced
For dawn is beginning to brighten the sky
It is to late for her to have any remorse
She'll just keep on singing with love as she cries

I wrote this one in fifteen minutes about a year or so ago. I was in group therapy yet again(though luckily not one as bad as IPRT*). I just sat down and wrote. Most of my poetry take at least a day to get an idea and a few hours after that. This one sort of just flowed out of my pencil and onto my paper.

It's always nice when that happens.
