CAC,

that last one strikes me as an especially effective deterrent to using crack. a "this is your brain on crack" kind of educational poster or public service announcement. scary!

This is a fantastic image. I supposed this is what the moment Ruby shot Oswald would've of looked like to the camera man if he was tripping on acid. Reminds me of Dali in some of his late work.

Ruby has got a ruby colored vest, with luster of a gem; is that intentional or coincidental?

I've heard that the pitchfork of Poseidon and that of the devil are equivalent. Apparently when Constantine introduced the spread of Christianity into the Roman empire the nature deities of pagan worship slowly became repressed and rejected. The dynamics of nature, sexual impulses especially, are checked by Christian heritage.

Are you a pitchforkian pagan?

quest, i was going to mention before, when you first joined the forum, that there is a subtext of serenity about you. this piece supports that impression. a few weeks ago i went camping up in the mountains in big sur and this also reminds me of that.

That is a beautiful picture, Lib. Yes ! I can see the resemblance to my image. Thank you for the nice words. I like Big Sur. I live in Los Gatos, not far from Santa Cruz. I enjoy that area by the beautiful Pacific. It is so serene.

CAC: that picture reminds me of that story of a young girl who finds a wild cat in the woods and is afraid to tell her father of it.. She puts it under her shirt during evening dinner and by the time the dinner ends, she's dead in her chair. The cat had torn apart her belly and although she was in agony, she didn't dare tell her father.

I don't think it has anything to do with this, but i had to think of it..

thanks for sharing the story, smoki. i can relate to it, it's highly symbolic. i definitely see the connection, too, with CAC's madonnasaur.

hi quest,

this piece makes me think of edwin abbott's "flatland". portals to other dimensions. i'm also partial to circles for their symbolic associations. if the circles in this picture represented a group of people, i think i would be that orange one there. which one would you be?

wow, nihil.

my first thought is a womb. intercourse also comes to mind. the red and blue give it a very organic feel, like arteries or veins. also makes me think of a heart.

the lighting is great.

What sprung to my mind immediatly was "The Birth of Evil." My impression being that the blood means she just gave birth, and that somehow this dinosaur (which would be refered to as a monster as an offspring of a human being) is the result. Unlike 'monster' the word 'evil' has a religious connotation to it, which is part of your painting.

Hi Lib,

Well I like the orange one too. It feels warm there. As another choice I like the green one. It has bonded with the yellow & teak colored one. I think the grey one looks like a pen. I was having fun with "paint" on the computer. I enjoy it though. It is really relaxing and you get to concentrate & feel creative. If you don't like you can just get rid of it.

I like the digital pictures you have done. Do you need a special program for it?

Yeah, CAC. I'm pissedly jealous of your work.

post-war-quilt-ascention is my favorite. just imagine if you were to produce a film and animate that figure through a mixture of CGI and real life actors. We'd be looking at a surreally decadent film. i see a bit of Max Ernst in that.

Forming an engaging plot might be a bit difficult, but eye candy alone suits me.

I like moving images set to music. We could bring back the silent movie and then use live audio at key moments. The movement of form could be perfectly synchronized to music of different feelings.

Just imagine, bullets breaking skin, set to beats, in slow motion, under the dusky light of a wasteland. A proper use of vastly different musical styles and eras, all in one film.

A giant black sphere hovering over a beautiful and placid subterrainian lake sucking tendrils of golden sparks from another smaller golden sphere, reflected in the lake. This could be part of the scenery in a postmodern approach to Dante's Inferno. Emmaciated souls in repose upon the shore.

A planet of white ivory islands held together by some artifical gravity, meets its doom when one of its species evolves to interuppt a static utopia.

The images could be astounding.

yeah I am often disgusted, love, find pleasure, understand, misunderstand, or what-have-you, your art work. I like knowing it's there, because you are there making it, and offering it, showing me what you are doing, your art makes me feel real.

I think we like a good car crash to get a glimps of reality, and then turn away because we can only handle so much of it.

You give us glimpses of glimpses so we can tolorate what reality we are afraid to stare at holisticaly. you like to lift and peek under veils for us and then point for us and say "see this"; and that we wouldn't normaly do ourselves.

Anyway blah blah blah like i know anything about art. laughing
I enjoy your stuff, and when I don't, I enjoy not enjoying it. Because it points at things
