I like it. I can hear the voice behind it. There's a lot of it. To say anything real, I have zoom back and forth from your poem to this writing space. Strikes me as the kind of thing that can be done only a series of bursts. The rhyming is great. The psychological gymnastics are great. I'm not going to pretend to understand all you're talking about. Parts of it are really, really funny. "It feels exciting touching your handwriting . ." We've all been there. Maybe the "I am" at the end of your refrain relates to your nom de Forum. Then again maybe not. Seems like at least some of it is fearsomely honest. If so, I wonder--is Forum a safer place that the shrink's office?laughing Just kidding. I'll bet you don't mind the rhymes and metrics in the fourth stanza.

Colloquial term for a 'psychiatrist' or to a lesser degree, psychologist, which no doubt came into being due to the popularity of psychoanalysis.

These days, headshrinkers peruse discussion forums to gain insight into patients. Not to mention the CIA.

Or maybe your ego and delusions. Yes, the common term for psychiatrists is 'shrink'. 'Head-shrinker', no doubt connected to the concept of the 'shaman' or 'witch doctor' who, literally, shrinks decapitated heads, is the older, full expression. Its a non-subtle association of the field of psychiatry with witch doctory.

A soul-burning piece. The devil always drops in for desert. It's a blast. Fantastic work.
