So im nearing the end of what i claim a fairly intellectual read. I assume im not the only one tripping out on our protaganist and his uncanny control of reality and ubiquitousness around Europe. some one give me some feed back if they've read and enjoyed this classic gem ha.

Welcome to the humble Couch, Spiegleblues.

I tried to read it once but only ever got about 1/3 of the way through. Any facts about the story I can recall are now borrowed from the most recent film rather than the novel.

This is Zum. Dumas was writing before the days of comic books; so the perennial need for them was still unfulfilled. Everyone has had the experience of being bested and humiliated by individuals who, at a given moment, had the upper hand, or operated by stealth. Recall the rage, the fantasy-revenge... It was, maybe, to this emotional condition that Dumas wrote... Admittedly, he had a hard time making the events plausible and, maybe, an even harder time maintaining Dantes in the role of ethical hero.
