Let’s hope you’ll never face the same problem again.

By the way, do you know what have caused the problem?

Anyway, lib I wish you all the best! smiling face

thank you smiling face

paul identified a vulnerability in the software that was most likely the window for the attack. he's repaired the code so that mode of attack can't be used again (thanks paul!) i'll be taking other security measures as well from here on out to try to keep any future hack attempts in check.

Same here.

There is a lot of malware around just now. I have firefox shutting itself off intermittently, and that's on a brand new laptop. Something must have got in.

Sure it isn't the tons of flash based ads killing it?

Half the members won't be able to post for an unknown amount of time, because firefox refuses to accept that this isn't an attack site. Clicking ignore allows viewing the particular page, but any attempt to post (or click anything else) just brings up the warning page again. They use google as their source, so people won't be coming in from google either I presume.

I'll move back to Opera, because the fact that flash doesn't work in it seems more and more like a feature as I become reaquainted with flash.

nothing irreparable, at least not on my end.

google emailed me a few days ago to let me know they had suspended my couch advertising account due to the detection of malicious code on the site; i emailed them after the upgrade to let them know the problem was fixed. they emailed me back to confirm that the couch was clean & good to go, so hopefully word will get back to firefox one of these days.

hi henry,

the message you saw on google will probably pan itself out within a few days. i'll keep an eye on it though & if they're still warning folks by the end of the week, i'll post a message to google about it.

thanks for the heads up,
